Prof. Dr. Francesco Maurelli is a leading researcher in marine robotics, specializing in automation, artificial intelligence, and intelligent systems for autonomous maritime operations. With over a decade of experience, he focuses on developing innovative solutions for underwater, surface, and aerial robotic platforms. His research has applications in ocean exploration, subsea installation management, maritime traffic automation, and operational safety at sea.

Prof. Maurelli holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, where he worked on intelligent localization for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). His expertise spans AI-driven navigation, machine perception, and fault-tolerant systems for autonomous robots.
